The most exciting game of round 18 in the BSNF took place in Carolina. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th rankedGigantes (8-7) to first ranked Cangrejeras (12-3) 86-83 on Saturday evening. Santurce shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Carolina helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Kamaria McDaniel (178-1999, college: Michigan St.) who led her team to a victory with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Shae Kelley (185-1991, college: Minnesota) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Cangrejeras players scored in double figures. Cangrejeras' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Jordanian guard Aisha Sheppard (175-1998, college: Virginia Tech) replied with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Teana Muldrow (188-1995, college: WVU) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Carolina. Cangrejeras have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-3 record. Carolina at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost.
